Cort made these for one year only, probably the Rickenbacker hierarchy got wind of them and asked Cort to stop. This one was the only 4 string - there were two 5 strings available , and with active pickups and bolt on maple neck construction doesn’t much sound like a 4001, but it has its own schtick and vibe and plays very well. Now has a well fitted and high quality gig bag at no extra charge - found in a recent stocktake from a discontinued brand Rebelrocker which were Ric copies only available in UK and Australia.
